    中国Tiema XC2200重载卡车由西南汽车厂(现在北方- 奔驰卡车公司分部)制造,位于重庆(Chongqing)市。卡车以德国梅赛德斯-奔驰2060型卡车为基础。目前卡车在PLA服役中,被当做重型工程设备卡车和武器系统车底盘。

    计划

    PLA在1970年后期订购了少量的德国梅赛德斯-奔驰2026型重载卡车(8吨的容量,6X6)补充它的不足的重载卡车。这些卡车主要地用于重型火炮拖车任务。PLA对车辆的性能印象深刻,并且接近梅赛德斯- 奔驰公司期望得到许可在中国联合生产卡车。

    设计

    XC2200采用双车门正向控制驾驶室,位于发动机舱上面。驾驶室有四个座位和在顶板有一个天窗。后面的货物车身的后挡板和侧挡板可放下,可拆卸蓬架和帆布蓬。单预备轮被垂直地安装在乘员室后面,靠近载货车箱在驾驶室和后货物车体之间。这一个空间能用来容纳一个修理工具箱和其它的装载/卸货设备。

    与第一代中国自行生产的重型台车相比较,XC2200有好很多的通用性能,连同85公里/小时的最大道路速度和一个8吨的越野装载能力。ZF5S-110/111 GPA变速箱有九个前进档和一个倒车档。三个车轴和六个车轮全部运行使用速度差速器锁定装置,即使当车辆的一侧上一个或更多的车轮没有与地面接触中,或已经失去牵引,确保车辆持续驱动。

    除了基本的货物卡车改型之外,XC2200也可得到许多其它的改型, 包括4X4、8X8、长轴距货车、起重机、掩护所、架桥车、运船车、道路铺设车和多种武器系统车底盘。中国也已经发展基于XC2200设计的WZ551轮式装甲人员输送车(APC)。

TIEMA XC2200 HEAVY-DUTY TRUCK

The Tiema XC2200 heavy-duty truck is built by Southwest Automobile Works (now part of North-Benz Truck Corporation) based at Chongqing city. The truck is based on the German Mercedes-Benz 2060 truck. Currently the truck is in service with the PLA as heavyweight engineering equipment carrier and weapon system chassis.

PROGRAMME

The PLA ordered a small number of the German Mercedes-Benz 2026 heavy-duty truck (8-ton capacity, 6X6) in the late 1970s to supplement its insufficient heavy-duty truck fleet. These trucks were mainly used for heavy artillery towing role. The PLA was very impressed with the performance of the vehicle and approached Mercedes-Benz for a licensed co-production of the truck in China.

The development of the Tiema XC2200 (originally known as TM-SC2030), a Chinese copy of the Mercedes-Benz 2060, began in the early 1980s. The Southwest Automobile Works, a NORINCO subordinate company located in Chongqing city, was chosen as the main contractor. The year 1982 saw the introduction of a prototype. Later in 1985 China imported the ZF mechanical gearbox and KHD413 air-cooled diesel technologies from West Germany, both of which were used on the Tiema XC2200 truck.

The XC2200 batch production began in 1986, with 2,000 vehicles rolling out from the assembly line each year. Most of these vehicles were accepted by the PLA for heavy cargo/equipment transportation, artillery towing, and weapon system chassis. The vehicle demonstrated excellent performance and reliability in regions with China’s most harsh road and weather conditions including Tibet highland and Gobi desert. As well as being deployed by the PLA, the vehicle was also exported to Pakistan, Thailand, Indonesia, and Sri Lanka.

DESIGN

The XC2200 has a two-door forward control cab with four seats and an observation hatch in the cab roof, mounted above the engine compartment. The rear cargo body is provided with a drop tailgate and sides, removable bows, and canvas cover. The single spare wheel is mounted vertically behind the crew cab, adjacent to a stowage space between the cab and rear cargo body. This space could be used to accommodate a repairing tools box and other loading/unloading equipment.

Compared to the first-generation indigenous heavy-duty trucks, the XC2200 has a much better general performance, with a maximum road speed of 85 km/h, and an off-road loading capacity of 8-ton. The ZF5S-110/111GPA gearbox has nine forward and one reverse gears. The three axles and six wheels all operate with speed differential locking devices, which ensure that the vehicle still has drive, even when one or more wheels on one side of the vehicle are not in contact with the ground, or have lost traction.

Apart from the basic cargo carrier variant, the XC2200 is also available in many other derivatives, including 4X4, 8X8, long wheel base cargo, crane, shelters, bridge carrier, boat carrier, road laying vehicle, and chassis for a range of weapon systems. China has also developed WZ551 wheeled armoured personnel carrier based on the design of the XC2200.
